The Residences at Hampton Roads Crossing in Suffolk

Hampton Roads Crossing is the newest mixed use community in Suffolk/Portsmouth. The property is divided into three distinct uses – all tied together in a campus environment. There is a commercial piece that sits along the Western Freeway called The MAST Center that will contain the new VMASC building (Virginia Modeling and Simulation Center, slated to open this fall) and the Tri-Cities building, both being constructed for Old Dominion University. Other office buildings as well as a hotel site round out the commercial tract.

There is a retail center that fronts on College Drive. This center will likely contain some larger chain retail tenants and a variety of boutique shops in the center and in the adjacent out parcels.
Finally, there is a large residential use piece being called The Residences at Hampton Roads Crossing. This tract is currently planned for 424 homes, although this number could get as large as 600 homes based on the potential of constructing additional homes in the retail section in a live/work design.

The Residences are being constructed under a condominium form of ownership. The community will offer a small clubhouse and pool, lakes and numerous walking trails interspersed throughout the entire development. It is anticipated that there will be 3-4 product lines offered within The Residences, including townhomes, four-plexes, 3-4 story “flats” and single family detached homes. Prices will not be released until opening, but it is anticipated that there might be a range from the high $200’s into the low $400’s.
